The campaign train of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Friday landed in the South East, precisely Abia and Ebonyi states.

The candidate, who had a difficult time managing the obviously excited youths in Aba, Abia State, had to use the open roof of the vehicle to address them and they walked along escorting him to the rally venue on a slow convoy singing ‘Obi Ka anyi ge eso’( Obi is our choice) choruses.

interestingly, while Obi was in Abia addressing various stakeholders, traditional rulers, youths and women in town hall meetings and rallies, other jubilant crowds were in a neighboring state of Ebonyi dancing and waiting to catch a glimpse of him.

The LP Presidential flag bearer’s message in the two states was reassuring, that a new and prosperous Nigeria is possible but the people must collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and go out in their numbers to vote out those holding Nigeria down.

Obi painted the sorry state of Nigeria today, stating that the situation makes the forthcoming election a make or mar one because now is the time to take the country and rebuild it.

According to him, if elected, he will invest massively in infrastructure, education and health for proper foundation for national development of pulling the people out of poverty.

He noted that commercial viability of Aba and the agricultural potentials of Abakaliki have remained untapped but he and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, will unlock all the potential across the country for the greater good of every citizen.

He reiterated his message to the people that injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere and he and Baba-Ahmed, if elected, will run an administration of equal opportunity for all.

Obi told the people to look out for credible leaders they can trust, those who can keep and manage the people’s commonwealth for the good of all.

Obi said: “Datti and I are from the private sector and have managed public fund. My records in Anambra state where I served for eight years are all verifiable.

“I urge you to ask questions about who you want to entrust your future in their hands. What is their name? Which school did they attend? Where are they from? How did they fair in their previous responsibilities?”

Obi was full of appreciation for the massive show of love from the people in the two states, urging them to collect their PVCs and ensure that their hearts’ desire is met on February 25, 2023 by coming out to vote.
