Tinubu in Yobe, says ASUU strikes will be history

Tinubu said: “I will make our education system, especially university education more stable by dealing with the problem of ASUU strikes. There will be no more strikes in our universities.”

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, says he would end incessant strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) if elected president.

Tinubu made the promise at the APC presidential campaign rally in Damaturu, Yobe State. He was accompanied by the president, Muhammadu Buhari under whose watch university campuses were shut down for nine months.

But Tinubu pledged to make education stable if entrusted with the leadership position of the country for the next four years.

The former Lagos State governor also said he would provide students with loans, agro credit facilities to farmers and make the Northeast region an export zone.

Tinubu said: “I will extend the credit facilities to university students as loans.

“I will make our education system, especially university education more stable by dealing with the problem of ASUU strikes. There will be no more strikes in our universities,” Tinubu said.
