BREAKING: Team Edo clinches first gold in Men’s 500m Sprint Cycling at National Sports Festival

Team Edo has had its first medal in the 21st National Sports Festival ongoing in Asaba, after its cyclist won a gold medal in Men’s 500m Sprint Cycling,

On Day 2 of the country’s Games, Team Edo got their campaign in a dart in a good start after Amin Aimuamwonsa got through to the Round of 16 after defeating Dawai of Team Kaduna 2-0 in the DART – TDB Male Single. Aimuamwonsa will face Amadou of Team Bayelsa in the Round of 16.

Aisossa Ogbomo will face off with Bala Mohammed of Team FCT in the round of 32.

In the Women’s Singles, Maris beat Ugochi of Team Rivers 2-0 to advance to the Round of 16 to face Grace of Team Kaduna.

Team Delta earlier defeated Team Oyo 3-0 in the women’s team Table Tennis final to win a gold medal at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Delta State.

The team consisting of Rashidat Ogundele, Fatima Bello, Ajoke Ojomu and Aminat Fashola cruised in a one-side final against Team Oyo at the indoor sports hall of Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Thursday night.
