ASSBIFI commissions new project

….. Says it will create job opportunities

The outgoing president, Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions, (ASSBIFI), Comrade Oyinkan Olasanoye has said that it’s new project will create job opportunities.

Comrade Olasanoye who was speaking at the commissioning ceremony of it’s project, ‘ASSBIFI Suites and Events Centre’ on Thursday said the building which has been designed to provide Accommodation, Spa, Boardrooms, Conference Halls and Relaxation place for stakeholders will create direct and indirect employment opportunity for over fifty Nigerians when fully operational. “It is an income source diversification strategy,” she said.

She disclosed that in monetary terms, the union need over three hundred million Naira, (N300,000,000.00) to complete and put the centre to commercial use as she thanked her social partners, Access and Polaris bank for their support. She called on voluntary assistance from employers, government, partners and stakeholders for the completion of the remaining parts of the building.

According to her, the construction of the ASSBIFI Suites and Events Centre started over a decade ago with levies and union dues of members in 2012. “To God be the glory we never borrowed and we are not indebted to any persons or banks. We have relied solely on members union dues, and levies which we pay once in every three years. Whatever sum we realised was prudently invested in the building.”

Comrade Olasanoye used the medium to appreciate all her members for their selfless and sacrificial services and also to the past national presidents for initiating and sustaining the idea of the project.

Also, the minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige who was represented by the state controller, Lagos state, Nnamdi Enuah commended the president through which the project was achieved.

According to him, “It is a product of sincere leadership, prudent, and accountability,”

He lauded the union for diversifying into other businesses such as this.
