Evra asserted Ronaldo is getting too much attention to the detriment of the game, saying he doesn’t want to be the one to explain his action

Two Premier League legends, Thierry Henry and Patric Evra have insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to storm off the pitch during Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Spurs is not as important as the victory.
Ronaldo, who was an unused substitute in the game, left the bench and walked down the tunnel with a few minutes to the end of the match.
Fred and Bruno Fernandes scored in the 47th and 69th minutes respectively to hand the Red Devils all three points, in an encounter they totally dominated.

Reacting to Ronaldo’s decision to take a walk before the end of the game, former Arsenal Striker, Thierry Henry, advised United to focus more on the win than his action.
Speaking after the game on Amazon Prime, the former French striker advised the United Boss, Erik ten Hag to take decisive actions on the matter.
He said: “A job Erik ten Hag has to deal with. But there was a game, a magnificent game, the story should not be Ronaldo walking off.”
Also commenting on the incident, former Man United defender, Patrice Evra, said he would love to focus on the team’s performance rather than the Portuguese action.
He went on to say Ronaldo is getting too much attention to the detriment of the game, he also asserted he doesn’t want to be the one to explain his action.
Evra said: “Everyone is different. I want to stay on United’s performance, not to protect Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Maybe he needed some treatment? I don’t want to find an excuse. We have to stop talking every day about Ronaldo.”
