Sports Ministry shifts 21st National Sports Festival to November, 28

The postponement is to give more time to complete some facilities for the festival, said Peter Nelson in the statement

The 21st National Sports Festival earlier billed to hold between November 2-15, 2022 has been shifted by three weeks and will now hold between November 28 and December 10, 2022.

The postponement, accroding to a release dated Friday September 23, 2022 and signed by Peter Nelson, the Festival secretary and addressed to all Commissioners of Sports and All Directors of Sports, is at the request of the host state, Delta.

‘I wish to convey the request of Delta State Government to shift the date of the 21st National Sports Festival earlier scheduled to hold from 2nd to 15th November, 2022. It is now shifted to commence on the 28th November to 10th December, 2022,’ read the statement.

The reason for the postponement is to give Delta state more time to complete some facilities needed for the festival.

The 21st National Sports Festival is coming barely 18 months after Edo state hosted the 20th edition in Benin City, Edo state.
