Burna Boy’s song ‘Last Last’ breaks  Wizkid’s US record

Burna Boy had earlier claimed that the track brought in more money for him than any of his other top hits songs

Afrobeat singer, songwriter, and record producer. Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has surpassed the feat achieved by another ace Nigerian artiste in the United States.

This is as the Afrofusion artiste’s hit song ‘Last Last’ breaks a record recently set by Wizkid’s “Essence” in the North American country. 

The 2022 jam from the CEO of Spaceship Entertainment’s most recent album, “Love Damini,” has sold over 500,000 units in the United States of America, marking another career milestone for him.

Prior to this, Burna Boy had claimed that the track brought in more money for him than any of his other top hits songs, while clarifying issues surrounding royalty sharing between him and popular American singer, Toni Braxton.

Burna Boy’s “Last Last” with the latest feat, becomes the fastest Afrobeats song to be certified Gold in the USA, just 121 days after its release.

The song also qualified for a Gold Certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

It is also the first Afrobeats song to have sold over 500,000 units in less than 17 weeks after its release.

With the accomplishment, Burna Boy has now  officially broken the record set by Wizkid with ‘Essence’ which took more than 17 weeks to bag a gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)
