Peter Obi set for CNN interview Tuesday

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, announced in a tweet last Friday that the CNN interview had changed.

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi will on Tuesday have a chat with CNN news anchor, Zain Asher.

The interview was rescheduled from Saturday, September 3 to Tuesday, September 6.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, announced in a tweet last Friday that the CNN interview had changed.

“My CNN interview initially scheduled for 3rd September with Zane Asher has been rescheduled to 6th September 2022,” he said.

Asher anchors the global news programme, One World with Zain Asher, and hosts Market Place Africa programme on CNN International based in New York, USA.

Asher, who was born and raised in London, is fluent in French, Spanish and Igbo, her native Nigerian dialect.

Obi has since last week been outside Nigeria engaging with Nigerians in Canada, and in the United States cities of California, Houston, Charlotte, North Carolina, Washington DC, Atlanta, and New York City.

In the CNN interview, Asher, a British-Nigerian, would grill Obi on an array of issues.

According to the former governor, he will run an administration that will give all Nigerians equal opportunity to serve the country, irrespective of tribe or religion if elected president.

“We will seek to reunite Nigeria through strict adherence to constitutional provisions on equitable representation in federal establishments of our national diversity, especially, women, youths and people with disability,” Obi said.

The CNN interview will take place at 5pm (local time).
