The journalist who was identified as Favour Bassey Otu disclosed this via her Twitter page on Saturday, July 9, claiming she has now fully thrown her weight behind the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Otu, who was working with Silverbird TV, said she left her job to avoid going against the ethics of her profession and prevent a possible clash of interest since she is expected to be neutral while reporting events.

She also argued that her job wouldn’t allow her to expressly and publicly show solidarity for her preferred presidential candidate.

She went on to say after leaving her job at Silverbird TV, she hopes to join either Channels TV or Arise TV after the 2023 election.

Otu wrote, “They said a journalist must be non-partisan (unbiased and fair). So I resigned my position with @SilverbirdTV to throw my full support on @PeterObi, after the elections next year, I’ll apply for a media job maybe with @channelstv or @ARISEtv or start up my business,”
