Senior Pastor of The Covenant Nation, Pastor Poju Oyemade, hurriedly deleted a tweet yesterday where he insinuated that the youths’ support for Peter Obi was misplaced.

Pastor Poju’s exact words is that the youths enthusiasm is a waste on a poorly planned project.

Although he didn’t mention Peter Obi’s name in the tweet, the reactions from the youths who  call themselves Obidients was to the effect that Pastor Poju wanted to use the Bible to manipulate them into supporting the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The youths recalled that in the build up to the 2015 election, Pastor Poju, who is also the convener of The Platform Nigeria, endorsed Buhari’s presidential bid, hence, not in a position to advise them on who to support in the 2023 election.

@VictorIsrael_ said: ” Pastor Poju really called our struggle “Enthusiasm wasted on a Poorly Planned Project”. The bible already said it that many false prophets shall arise and shall deceive people but you see this particular prophet, the youths of this country have resisted him! Anointed don Annoy us.”

@ChigozielAlex said: “When you see religious clerics like Pastor Poju being bantered on this street, don’t blame the people because political religious leaders misled us in 2015 so in this 2023 elections the people won’t tolerate any religious leader who try to mislead us. Not again.”

@toria_stones said: “If we no look father Mbaka face, is it now one “Pastor Poju”?  We have refused to be manipulated by pretentious religious preachers! If you want to campaign for Tinubu, do so without twisting the scriptures.

@BodeWarlord said: “Most of you don’t realize that if we have a working Nigeria with basic infrastructure and a competent leader with zero tolerance for corruption, people like Pastor Poju will be out of business same goes for all these fake activists. 2023 is not going to be business as usual.”

@Mzta_B said: “As it stands now, the man PO is not just a presidential candidate. He is an Image of hope to many who seek a reason to believe. If you come after him, you’re coming after that image and they’ll fight you.”

@ozii_baba said: “People like Pastor Poju will never understand that people follow Peter Obi because they are tired and frustrated. We are grasping for a candidate that seems to understand our plight. If you stand with any candidate that is part of our problem, then, you are part of our problem.”
