Reno Omokri backs Yul Edochie, says polygamy better than adultery

Reno also quoted a verse from the Bible and made another claim that polygamy was only forbidden for ‘Bishops, overseers, and elders in the church’

Lawyer and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has asserted that polygamy is a better option when faced with committing adultery or formation.

He made the comment on Wednesday, April 17,  in respect of the news of Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie’s disclosure that he has a second wife.

The actor sent the social media into a frenzy when he took to his Instagram page to introduce a son another woman had for him and went further to claim that the mother of the boy is his second wife.

A fan, named Uche Chuta, later asked Reno Omokri to share his opinion on the development and he opined polygamy is not a sin and added that it is better than committing adultery or fornication.

“Thank you for your question. I generally would prefer to mind my own business, but as this is a direct question to me from you, a gubernatorial candidate, about Yul, who relates very well with me, I will respond to it.

“In my personal opinion, I don’t think Polygamy is a sin.” Reno Omokri said

He also added, “I will not counsel any man to marry more than one wife, but I will say that polygamy is by far better than adultery and fornication. But, these are my personal views.”

Reno also quoted a verse from the Bible (1Timothy 3:2) to back another claim he made that  polygamy was only forbidden for ‘Bishops, overseers, and elders in the church’   

This comes as Edochie’s first wife of 17 years and mother of his 4 kids, May, reacted to his comment by stating that she is leaving her husband and his new wife to God.
