Nollywood actor, Akah Nnani, also advised his colleagues to turn down politicians who pay them to perform at their events on his Twitter handle.

He wrote, “If you pray at a political event or you sing for a politician, you have endorsed that candidate.”

But media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze has rubbished the argument urging artistes to render their services to politicians who seek such for a fee.

He went on to advise them to reject any “emotional blackmail”, but added that they should remember to carry out such job professionally.

He said, “Interviewing a candidate or performing at an event is different from endorsement, know the difference. Earn your pay, Nigeria is already hard enough!”

The On Air Personality gave the advice on Saturday via his Instagram page where he contended that votes and not artistes’ performances at political events, will determine the result of an election.

He also said the accusation should not be limited to entertainers, as other professionals also render services to politicians.

“PVC and voting are what guarantee election victory, not artiste performance.

“Also, remember that if you don’t want to be a hypocrite, don’t clamp down on artistes alone, remember to include caterers, event venue owners, drink suppliers, ushers, security personnel, etc, at the events.”  Daddy Freeze added.
