Chidinma Pearl will either spend the next two years in jail or pay a fine of N500,000 for distributing kegs of petrol to party guests
A Lagos socialite, Ogbulu Chidinma Pearl, has been convicted for an action capable of endangering the safety of others.
As per reporting by Legit, Ogbulu Chidinma Pearl is a fashion stylist who was handed the two-year imprisonment sentence for sharing to guests kegs of petrol as a souvenir at her installation party.
Ogbulu Chidinma Pearl was conferred with a chieftaincy title and decided to gift guests with hundreds of kegs of petrol at a time the product was extremely scarce. Each guest received at least 10 litres for attending the party.

But the Lagos government arraigned Ogbulu Chidinma Pearl at a Lagos State Special Offences (Mobile) Court sitting at Oshodi on Thursday, March 14.
The prosecutor tendered evidence of video clips that showed the distribution of petrol to guests at the installation party of Ogbulu Chidinma Pearl.

Following a viral clip from the installation party on March 5, 2022, the Lagos state government had sealed off the Havilah Event Centre, Victoria Island where the party was held, for contravening public safety rules and consequently arrested as well as arraigned her on March 14.
Chief Magistrate Kehinde Ogundare who delivered the judgement sentenced her to three months’ imprisonment or a N15, 000 fine on counts one of the three charges, and one-year imprisonment or N500,000 fine on the second count.
