Adu greets Jegede, Mimiko, others for support in Akure South/North bye-election

Adu, the House of Reps candidate of the PDP in the February 26 bye-election, says lessons have been learnt to prepare for future victory

The House of Representatives Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu has expressed appreciation to leaders and members of the party in Akure South/North Federal Constituency in Ondo State noting that they worked assiduously for the party in the last Bye-election.

Barrister Adu in a statement signed by his Media Consultant, Julius Alabi also thanked the Iyalaje, iyaloja, artisans, women groups, youth organisations and all the people of Akure South and North for their supports given to him during the election.

“Let me use this medium to appreciate all our leaders in People’s Democratic Party (PDP), especially Governorship candidate in both 2016 and 2020 Governorship elections, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN former governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, Ayo Akinyelure, Amb. Omolade Oluwateru, chairman of our great party, Hon. Fatai Adams, all the aspirants in the Bye-election and electorate in both Akure North and Akure South council areas who came out massively to cast their votes.

“We have learnt our lessons in the election as we need to put our house in order for the future election and I know there are brighter days ahead of us in the next election 2023. So, let’s brace up, roll-up and get ready for the next line of actions as we move towards the 2023 General Elections,”Adu stated.

The House of Representatives candidate for Akure North/South in the last Saturday Election narrowly lost with 1,812 votes to the winner and candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mayokun Lawson Alade in an election believed to be heavily induced by vote buying and other breaches of the provisions of the 2010 Electoral Act.
