Buhari described Anyim as “one of Nigeria’s best who remains a statesman, model and icon for Nigerian youths.”

“I stand here today on the event of Senator Pius Anyim’s 61st birthday to express President Buhari’s utmost delight and pride in joining other Nigerians here today in celebrating one of Nigeria’s best,” Boss Mustapha said on behalf of his principal, President Buhari.

The 19th SGF said many Nigerians are not aware that Buhari and Anyim have always had good, personal relationship.

Buhari, speaking through his SGF, Mustapha, further said, “Anyim is a true Nigerian patriot, who is humble whether he is in position of authority or out of office.

“He was a stabilising factor in the Senate as Senate President. He is a patriotic Nigerian who will always put his nation first.

“His contribution to the growth of the nation and its political development is remarkable.”

Mustapha, who said he has drawn a lot from his predecessor’s wealth of experience and wisdom as the country’s 17th SGF, prayed God to grant his heart desires and aspirations.
