Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has described the death of Sir Bon Nwakanma, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), as shocking.
Okorocha, who is still in China, said that the Imo State-born lawyer was one of the best the country ever produced.
He lamented that his demise has left a vacuum that would be difficult to fill. According to the governor, Nwakanma was an astute legal practioner every young lawyer wanted to emulate.
“He pursued his legal career with high sense of decency and commitment. Hence, he made history as a SAN who won almost all his cases at all levels. Apart from giving good account of himself as a lawyer, Nwakanma also acquitted himself well both as a Christian of Anglican extraction and also as an exemplary leader of his people,” he said. The governor prayed God to grant his gentle soul eternal rest.
