Biafra activist, Idara Gold, makes her point by decking in the red, green and black colour of the once Biafra nation

Idara Gold, an Akwa Ibom lady who was arrested for decking a Biafran outfit to mark her birthday, has neither been taken to court nor granted bail.

A movie actor, Chiwetalu Agu, was the first to be arrested by the Nigerian Army in August for wearing the Biafran colour with the rising sun emblazoned on it.

Idara defiantly wore the Biafran outfit knowing that she could be arrested. She was later arrested and he been in the custody of the police since last week.

She said: ” My daughter in another country wears what she wants to wear without harassment but her contemporary in here cannot wear whatever she wants. We have a septuagenarian who stood before the world & said he was a repentant democrat & a professor of law in the helm #FreeIdaraGold.”

She added: “Injustice to one is injustice to all. If I look the other way when someone is arrested and locked up for wearing Biafran colours, who will look my way when I am arrested and locked up for wearing my hijab? #FreeIdaraGold
