The Chief Executive Officer, Trustlink Guards and Dogs Institute, Dr.
Chukwunazom Cyra Obi, has commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, for supporting the Police Dog Breeding Centre in Abuja.
Obi, in a chat with our correspondent in Umuahia, hailed Arase for stating that soon, the police will support the operational dog requirements of other law enforcement agencies that have such units, as well as breeding friendly puppies for civilian population on commercial basis.
He said, “We are very happy with Arase for revitalizing the dog division. Over the years we used to hear of police dogs, suddenly it was as if it stopped existing, but Arase came on board and started the police dog stuff. He should be commended for that vision”.
Obi, who described well-breed dogs as a very dependable source of security, hinted that, “dogs do a lot of things.
If you have trained a dog, it can help you in your work, and exercise. It can also help you in security. If you breed it very well, you can produce puppies and sell. Dog is just wonderful and anybody in the business should be commended and supported”.
On the current stage of his ongoing Dogs and Guards Institute in Umuahia, Obi said, “We are rounding up our dog breeding institute which is of international standard with in-built veterinary clinic, ultra modern laboratory, dog glocery shop, qualified veterinary doctors as consultants etc in Umuahia, courtesy of the Abia State Government who gave us land as soon as we got affiliated with an American firm, Tex American Investigative and Security Services Incorporated, USA. We are just approaching the completion of the institute”.
He s that the institute would wish to partner with the police if and when the need arises.
