Two Nigerian strikers, Kelechi Iheanacho and Victor Osimhen, were the cynosure of all eyes on Thursday, as Leicester City and Napoli settled for a 2-2 draw in the Europa League group C match, played at the King Power Stadium, England.
The host, Leicester, drew the first blood when Harvey Barnes, provided an assist for Ayoze Perez, on the 9th minute to score the first goal of the game.
Leicester consolidated their position when Harvey Barnes scored in the 64th minute after Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, gave a pass to him to make it 2-0.
Napoli, who had more possession reduced the deficit five minutes later when another Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, scored after receiving a fine assist from Fabian.
Osimhen made it a brace on the 87th minute after getting another assist from Matteo Politano to complete a night of dramatic comeback for the visitors.
Another Nigerian, Wilfred Ndidi, made the night more miserable for Leicester, when he picked up a second yellow card on the 93rd minute, and got sent off. He will now miss Leicester’s next Europa game.
A total of eight yellow cards and one red card were issued by Portuguese referee, Tiago Martins.
While Iheanacho will be proud of providing an assist in the game, it was his compatriot, Osimhen, who stole the show after getting a brace for Napoli FC.
