Gunmen abduct Emir of Bungudu along Kaduna-Abuja highway, kill police escort

Terrorists that have reduced life in the Northwest region to the Hobessian state of nature have struck again.

Reports reaching TheNiche newspaper reveal that bandits operating along Kaduna-Abuja highway have abducted a popular first class monarch in Nigeria , Emir of Bungudu.

Though the paramount ruler, His Royal Highness, Hassan Attahiru, was reported to be the only person that was kidnapped by the terrorists, many of those in his convoy had injuries of varying degrees.

The terrorists also engaged the security personnel in the Emir’s convoy in a gun duel and a police officer was killed in the process.

Attahiru, who is a monarch from Zamfara State, was on his way to Abuja when the terrorists struck.

TheNiche gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday at about 3.10 pm near Olam Factory, few kilometers to the city of Kaduna.

The terrorists were said to have opened fire on the convoy and successfully demobilized some of the vehicles before abducting the monarch.

The Abuja-Kaduna highway for so long has been unsafe and a lot of Nigerians have fallen victims of notorious kidnappers and bandits operating in the area.

As at the time of filing this report, we are yet to get official statement from the security agencies on the kidnap.
