The every Monday sit-at-home in the South East ordered by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to demand the release of it’s leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has been called off by the secessionist group.
IPOB’s sit at home order, which commenced last Monday and was enforced violently by the secessionist, grounded the social and economic activities in the South East.
It was criticised for depriving school children of participating in the NECO exam and economic sustenance for families who depend on daily income.
IPOB’s executive, Chika Edoziem announced the suspension of the action via the Radio Biafra.
He says: “I wish to announce this very evening, that as directed by the highest command of this noble movement, our Monday Ghost Town or sit-at-home in Biafra land, stands suspended for now.
”The weekly sit-at-home stands suspended, which means in the coming Monday, there will be no Ghost Town in Biafraland.
“Our sit-at-home will be on each court date when our leader, Onye Ndu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be appearing in court.”
