The Edo State Government says it is taking over the shabby job passed off as road construction recently exposed in a viral video in the state.
The project is the constituency project of a lawmaker representing Akoko-Edo federal constituency, Peter Akpatason, but handled by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The viral video showed a man peeling off tarred road and concrete drainage with his bare hands while lamenting: “Dat rubbish wey dem dey always talk say half bread is better than none na him kill Nigeria come reach today so.”
An online news medium, Premium Times, quoted the Edo state deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, as saying: “The contractor handling this project must be arrested for the bad job done and handed over to ICPC and the EFCC, alongside the honourable member representing the people of the area. This is to enable us to ascertain what happened.
