Kumuyi says Deeper Life will disregard Twitter ban

-

President Muhammadu Buhari’s ban on Twitter, has met another resistance from the General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Church, Pastor William Kumuyi.

Buhari announced the ban on Twitter, Friday June 4 through his Information Minister, Lai Mohammed.

Realizing that the App can still be accessed through Virtual Private Network, his Attorney General, Abubakar Malami, warns that citizens who use Twitter would be arrested and prosecuted on the strength of the ban. The government resorted to this measure since there is no law criminalizing the use of Twitter

Earlier today, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, said the RCCG would not comply with the directive as it was against International Charter on Human Rights.

Kumuyi said the Deeper Life Church has branches all over the world, and that content shared on its Twitter handle was for such global audience.

“In view of the Twitter ban in Nigeria, please note that the content shared on this handle is targeted at a global audience in more than 5 continents and over 100 Nations and we share the content from any of these locations,” he said.
