Edo High Court judge, Ighodalo, is dead

A judge in the Edo State judiciary, Justice Morrison Ojabulu Ighodalo has passed away after a brief illness.

Justice Ighodalo who was number three-judge in the hierarchy of thirty-one (31) Edo State High Court judge’s died late Monday night.


Reports from Benin-City, Edo State capital was that his demise stalled all cases in the courts, because other judges, magistrates and presidents adjourned.

Expressing the mood of lawyers on the death of the judge, Edo NBA Publicity Secretary, Ogaga Emoghwanre, said the association was in a mourning mood.

“He was a renowned judge with an unflinching determination to always impact knowledge on one and all.

‘’We will greatly miss him. He was a jurist of no mean repute,” Emoghwanre said in a statement. 

Edo Chief Judge, Justice Esther Edigin, had held a meeting with the judges and later paid a condolence visit to Ighodalo’s family at Boundary Road in GRA, Benin.
