Residents of Damari in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State woke to a morning shocker on December 7. A bold poster from a resident, Lawal Na Buhari , warns that he should no longer be called that name. He said anyone who called him the name should be prepared for any consequences that follow the action.
Lawal Na Buhari means Lawal of Buhari.
Lawal said he should instead be called Lawal Na Manzon Allah, that is, Lawal of God’s Holy Prophet.
The turning point for Lawal is the growing insecurity and banditry in Katsina state.
Katsina has become the hotbed of banditry, kidnapping and mass killings. The residents of the state have lamented that President Muhammadu Buhari who is from the state, has failed to protect them from the criminals.
Lawal, whose birth name is Lawal Idi, said in the poster published in Hausa language that he no longer wished to be called Lawal Na Buhari, but Lawal Na Manzon Allah with a stern warning that anyone who defies the warning should be prepared to live with their action.
