The fugitive former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, has been arrested in Niger Republic after jumping bail.
The Punch in a report said Niger Republic security operatives arrested Maina following an alert from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to the INTERPOL on his escape from the law.
Maina is standing trial for a 12 counts of money laundering chief among which was that he embezzled N2 billion in Pension funds.
The disappearance of Maina after he was granted bail by the trial judge, Justice Abang Okon, led to his surety, Senator Ali Ndume, spending five days in prison. He only came out on November 27.
