NIPOST remains cheapest, fastest means of communication

Mr Simon Adoyi, Area Postal Manager, Niger Territory, Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) says in spite of the impact of Internet technology, the organisation remained the cheapest and fastest means of communication.

Adoyi made this remark at the NIPOST 2015 Customers’ Forum in Minna on Friday to sensitise customers on the activities of the organisation in enhancing efficiency of expediting  mail and parcel service delivery.

According to him, NIPOST remains the cheapest and fastest means of communication because of its spread across the country, the remoteness of the areas not withstanding in terms of coverage.

“Apart from the numerous functions rendered by the organisation, it has always remained in the global best practice and service delivery to our customers,” he said.

He added that the main purpose of the forum was to sensitise customers and other members of the public on the available products and services offered by NIPOST.

“It is the tradition of NIPOST to partner with its customers so as to serve them better.

“The choice of inviting you to this forum is not by mistake as you are one of our consistent customers. Your patronage has been our source of existence,’’ he said.

Adoyi urged the customers to use the opportunity to learn more about the organisation and its products.

Earlier, the Assistant Post Master General (APMG), Marketing, Mr Adebusola Adewusi said that NIPOST was aware of the challenges as a result of technological advancement but it still offered good services to customers.

In a lecture entitled, “The role of the customer in relation to NIPOST in the performance of her activities,’’ Adewusi noted that the organisation had recorded a huge success in past years.

Thus, there is the need to review the strategies of improving on the present operation levels, enhance profitability and improve on service delivery.

He lauded the customers for their kind patronage and confidence in the organisation for service delivery.

Responding on behalf of the customers, Mr Paul Uweriavwe of Shelter Power Ltd., praised NIPOST for being efficient in speed posting among other service delivery initiatives.

NAN reports that NIPOST is into the service of haulage of goods, internet services, money transfer, delivery of registered letters and speed post.
