The whereabouts of a former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, are unknown. This is according to the man who stood surety for him during his trial at a Federal High Court in Abuja, Senator Ali Ndume.

At the sitting of the court on Friday, October 2, Senator Ndume, who stood  surety for Maina, told the court that he could no longer guarantee the court appearance of the ex pension reform task team boss.

The claim by Ndume has stirred debate on the social media on how Ndume would claim ignorance of Maina’s whereabouts.

A twitter user who tweets with the twitter handle @Shawnbarth8 said: “This is one of our problems in this country. Why will our judiciary even allow someone like Maina to be granted bail at the first instance. Then came Ndume, a Senator. These are the people giving us problems and bad names here. Let him face the maximum consequence please. Nonsense!”

Another twitter user who tweeted with the handle @alutadarf argued: ” Dear Ndume, If You Can’t find Maina, Then you must be ready to bear the consequences as contained in the bail conditions. Simple.”

@Suphjt tweeted: “Did you read the lies he told Justice Abang? That he doesn’t know Maina’s house,  yet he staked N500 million  on someone he claims he doesn’t know intimately? @Malindume is such a crooked.”

@mohamadlapai also tweeted: “Badly scripted ruse, with enablers in the judiciary. They can get away with it.

It took Ndume Six Months to agree standing as Maina’s surety, after all the consultations with his legal team, without verifying Maina’s abode, Ndume must bear the consequences of his action.”
