In a related development the FCT chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN has applauded the appointment of Ogba as the Senate committee chairman on sports.

SWAN also applauds the appointment of the new House committee chairman on sports, Goni Bukar Lawal on his appointment.

On Ogba, SWAN believes that his appointment is a very strong statement by the Nigeria Senate president Bukola Saraki that he actually has the interest of sports at heart.

Ogba has been a strong member of the Nigeria sporting family and understands the dynamics of sports administration in Nigeria.

FCT SWAN has vowed to work positively with both of them with a view in ensuring that proper policies that would move Nigeria sports forwards are churned out.

According the Chairman of the Association, Kayode Adeniyi, “We are very happy to have these two gentlemen supervising Nigeria sports from the legislative side. Ogba is a known name in Nigeria football and so will not be in a strange territory. We hope to work with them hoping that they will also be willing to work with us.

“Our interest is to see Nigeria sports move from strength to strength and this can only be possible through a robust legislative leadership,” he concluded.

Obinna Ogba now takes over from Adamu Gumba, while Goni Bukar Lawal takes over from Godfery Gaiya.
