“First, we thank God for helping us beat Kano Pillars to the trophy with a bunch of dedicated players. The next step is to retain our title at the FIBA Africa Zone Three championship and qualify to play in the African championship were we intend to do better than our last year’s disappointing ninth place finish.

“With what we have in the team now as well as the spirit, we are hoping to get as far as the quarterfinal stage.

He however confessed that the massive support the team received from Lagos fans really helped them to achieve success.

“I thanked Lagos fans for their support as it contributed immensely to our victory over Pillars in the final match.

“It was unbelievable and massive. It really helped us and I am very grateful to the fans and basketball lovers.

It will be recalled that Mark Mentors defeated Kano Pillars by 80 to 62 points to win this year’s DStv PBL and a ticket to represent the country at the continent.
