Forbes estimates his net worth at 26.6 billion dollars, almost one billion dollars for each year of his life.

Zuckerberg has also connected about one fifth of the world’s population through his social media network Facebook, which has about 1.3 billion users.

Time Magazine named the Facebook founder, “Person of the year in 2010’’, the same year the biographical movie, The Social Network, premiered.

Zuckerberg, son of a dentist and a psychiatrist, enjoyed developing computer programme, especially communication tools and games while he was still in high school.

He started Facebook from his dormitory room at Harvard in February 2004, and the company was worth around 135 billion dollars, making it the fastest growing company in history.

He kept his private life under wraps, when he married his long-time girlfriend, Priscilla Chan, in May 2012; inviting only 100 guests.

He is an advocate for Internet security.

Zuckerberg criticised the US government in March in the wake of the National Security Agency (NSA) scandal. (dpa
