The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) on Friday appointed Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, chairman of Edo State governorship election campaign council.
The deputy chairman is Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri.
Governor Godwin Obaseki who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the PDP primaries for the election scheduled for September 19.
The Governor Mai Mala Buni-led APC Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee had earlier announced a 49-member national campaign council headed by Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, with Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State as deputy, for the APC.
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will fly the APC flag.
