“I personally enjoyed a warm relationship with him and prayerfully hoped that he would surmount the brief illness.

“May God  uphold his family.”

Recall that the late former governor Abiola Ajimobi had died about 4.00pm on Thursday June 25 in Lagos at the age of 70 after battling with complicated health problems.

He was particularly admitted in First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital, Lagos on June 2, 2020.

The late politician had  held sway as the governor of Oyo State from 2011 to 2019 and later became the deputy chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Just last week after the affirmation of  suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of APC by the  Appeal Court, the then National Working Committee (NWC) of the party  made Ajimobi who was still battling with his health the Acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) but he never resumed till his demise.

The former governor was equally said to have tested positive to COVID-19 but  later became negative but his health deteriorated due to other health-related issues.
