Former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, is still alive.
This revelation was made by his media aide, Bolaji Tunji, in a telephone discussion with TheNiche on Thursday night.
There were unconfirmed reports on Thursday that the immediate past governor of Oyo State who has been battling COVID-19 in a private hospital in Lagos had passed on.
Ajimobi who has been in the intensive care unit of the First Cardiologist hospital reportedly slipped into coma on June 8.
But when TheNiche reached out to Tunji to confirm the story, he said it was false.
“My oga is still alive. He is not dead.”
Asked where the rumour was coming from, he said it may not be far from the politics of the All Progressives Congress (APC) without elaborating.
APC has been embroiled in a leadership crisis that got to a head this week when the Appeal Court upheld the suspension of the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and Ajimobi, a former Senator and deputy National Chairman, South, was appointed the acting National Chairman by the National Working Committee.
