Anambra auto crash claims five lives

Five persons were feared dead in a ghastly motor accident at Upper-Iweka in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Many others were said to have sustained varying degrees of injury in the incident which involved a Mack-trailer loaded of goods.

It was gathered that many people were still trapped under the vehicle.

Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Pascal Anigbo, confirmed the incident.

He said: “Fatal road traffic crash has just been reported at Upper Iweka, Onitsha.

“About five people already confirmed dead, others injured. Rescue operation is ongoing.

“The Acting Unit Commander Onitsha has contacted Julius Berger for their crane.”
