Outside her constituency of Shomolu, very few people know who Tolu Ebun is. She actually came to limelight some months ago during the electioneering for the general elections where she stood out, especially in the rating of political posters.
She was the most beautiful and the youngest of the female aspirants in Lagos. Although she failed in her bid to get a seat in the House of Representatives under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), she was recently recognised for something else. At the recent Spirit of Lagos Citizens Award, Ebun was nominated, shortlisted and given the Exceptional Youth Lagosian Award for impacting positively on her community.
It was revealed that Ebun is dedicated to delivering the goods to her local community. She has provided scholarships to youths in Shomolu, organised free career seminars, dug a borehole and donated transformers and continues to build the minds of the youth towards peace and harmony.
It is certain that she looks beyond politics in her effort to make her community, which is predominantly an All Progressives Congress (APC) area, a better place for the residents.
This young intelligent and humane lady should be given a second look by the government, both state and federal.
