A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos State, Nigeria, on Thursday (today) convicted the former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, and two others.
The court, presided over by Justice Mohammed Idris (JCA) found Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and two others guilty of fraud to the tune of N7.65 billion. He will spend minimum of 12 years in prison.

Others convicted alongside Senator Orji Uzor Kalu are his firm, Slok Nigeria Limited, and Jones Udeh Udeogu, who was the director of Finance and Accounts at the Abia State Government House during Kalu’s tenure as governor.
