How siblings, others robbed, killed motorcycle mechanic in Ibadan

Oyo State Police Command Thursday paraded two siblings: Yakubu Suara (26), and Lateef Suara (20), as well as, their partners in crime: Job Ogbile (20), Rilwan  Suleiman (18), and Azeez Lateef (19) in connection with the alleged robbery and murder of a motorcycle mechanic, Oladapo Toheeb (21).

   The suspects were paraded at the Eleyele Police Headquarters, Ibadan along with 40 other suspects arrested for various unlawful acts.

   According to the State Commissioner of Police, Mr.  Olushina Olukolu, the suspected criminals specialized in robbing people of their motorcycles and in some cases killing their innocent victims in the process.

  CP Olushina confirmed that the suspects were arrested following a report by one Abideen Oladapo to the SARS office in Dugbe on October 10, 2019, that his son who is a commercial motorcyclist was attacked by unknown hoodlums while carrying out his lawful duty within Ibadan.

   His words: “As the incident was reported, a team of SARS Operatives swung into action and after discreet investigations, on 11/10/2019, three suspects who later identified themselves as Yakubu Suara, Job Ogbile and Lateef Suara, were arrested in connection with the crime in their respective hideouts in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states.

  “Subsequently, Azeez Lateef and Ridwan Suliaman were later arrested as members of the syndicate who have jointly carried out series of criminals activities within Ibadan metropolis.”    On how the deceased was murdered by the gang, the CP said that in the course of dragging the issue with one of the hoodlums, Job Ogbile, not to go away with his bike, the innocent victim, Oladapo Toheeb, was smashed with a wooden object with the assistance of the others and dispossessed him of his Bajaj motorcycle.   They left him in the pool of his blood to die.
