The Speaker of Niger State House of Assembly, Bawa Abdullahi Wuse, has confirmed the receipt of nine commissioner nominees forwarded by the state Governor, Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello, to the house.
The speaker disclosed this after receiving members of the Forum of Education secretaries in the state.
Wuse, who did not reveal the names and number of prospective cabinet members, said that the names would be read at the plenary soon.
He said, “The list is in the Assembly’s possession and would be read in the plenary any time soon.
“Whatever it is, everything would be resolved as soon as the list is read on the floor.”
But, it was gathered that nine out of the former Commissioners are among those submitted by the governor to the house.
This is coming five months after the inauguration of Governor Bello’s second tenure.
The Chairman of the Forum of Education Secretaries, Ahmed Pkatu Bosso, had during the visit pleaded with the House to cooperate to ensure one of their members allegedly on list of the nominees be cleared.
“We are happy with the news that an education secretary is on the list of nominated commissioners. We believe it will add a lot of impetus to the administration,” he said.
Bosso also demanded for the implementation of push allowance for teachers working in the rural areas and improved budgets for the teachers among others.
