Payment of N100,000 to each of the 2,250 beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) scheme, which is an initiative of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the Ekiti State Government has started.
The payment, which will be released to the wallets accounts of the 2,250 beneficiaries, is being made in four tranches on daily basis, starting from Wednesday.
A total sum of N225 million is being paid to the 2,250 beneficiaries, with N30,000 paid into the wallet account of each of the beneficiaries on Wednesday and another N30,000 paid into the account on Thursday, while another N30,000 will be paid today, and the final N10,000 will be paid on Monday.
Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, who made this known in a release issued today, disclosed that; “The E-Wallet Platform designed for the scheme by Eco Bank can only accommodate payment of N30, 000 per day.”
The N100,000 will enable each of the beneficiaries to invest in Agric related business as part of the Poverty Reduction Accelerator Investment (PRAI).
Anisulowo, who urged the 2,250 beneficiaries to activate their phones to enable them receive payment alerts.
He disclosed that another 2,108 women Ekiti State will benefit from the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) scheme soon, under which the beneficiaries will receive N5,000 stipend per month and N100,000 as exit fund to enable them invest after the expiration of the programme.
“The beneficiaries would receive the sum of N5,000 on a monthly basis for a period of one year and will be trained on Agric related business before the end of the programme,” Anisulowo said.
