Sly, another entertainer dies

The shocking death of veteran Nollywood actor, Peter Bunor, last Friday had barely sank in when another person in entertainment has been reported to have died. This time it is Sylvester Ojigbede, a presenter on Classic FM 97.3, who passed away today, May 4 due to spinal cord injuries.

Popular as ‘Sly’, he lives behind a family of two children and his wife.

 

 

Whereas Bunor died in Asaba, Delta State on Friday after he survived an attack from stroke a few years ago, Sly’s death occurred in Lagos where he lives and works. Passes Away.

Sly’s death was confirmed by his friend and co-host Tintin, who said on social media that the deceased had been the hardest worker he had ever worked with.

 

 

“It’s nothing but smooth sailing now buddy! I’m hurting so bad, but at least I had the honour of seeing you in your final hours. Thank you for being such a good guy. Ciao Sly….Peaceful journey. RIP,” Tintin wrote.

 

 

Sly, was until his death, anchor for the Morning Show (6am to 11am) from Mondays to Thursdays as well as the Classic X-Press (6am to noon) on Saturdays on the radio station.

 

 

Born in the 1970s, he is said to have been an economics graduate of the University of Lagos. He worked in advertising, mortgage and the commercial banking sectors before moving to the Classic FM.

 

 

Bunor, of Ogwashi Uku, Delta State origin, while active as an actor, featured in popular soaps including ‘Cock Crow at Dawn’, ‘Memorial Hospital’, ‘Checkmate’, ‘Sound of Destiny’, ‘Second Chance’, ‘Third Eye’ and several movies among which are ‘Living in Bondage’.

 

 

Peter Bunor Jr., also an actor, announced his father’s death on social media, saying he had died in the early hours of Friday.
