There seems to be some respite for Chinese network carrier, Huawei as President Trump, through the U.S. Commerce Department, has given the company 90-day extension to provide support for existing handsets and network components.

Last week, Trump issued an executive order banning U.S. tech companies like Intel, Google, and Qualcomm from providing support for Huawei.

The order was immediately complied with by the companies which sent panic to millions of Huawei users worldwide.

Huawei, in a statement, seen by TheNiche, said the U.S. government underestimated its strength.

The company’s CFO, Ren Zhengfei said the 90-day extension does not have much impact and that the company is ready to tackle the ban. It also indicated interest to work with the authorities in Washington.

Zhengfei also said Huawei is already in talks with Google to create a response plan for its handset business.
