The security at some areas of Ikot Ekpene, the senatorial district of Senator Godswill Akpabio came under massive shooting by unknown gunmen suspected to be working for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
An accredited polling observer at Ikono local government area of Ikot Ekpene told TheNiche that gunmen led by suspected APC chieftains stormed many polling units and abducted both the poling officials and the voting materials while shooting their way out of the community.
The observer said the security deployment in the area was poor, a reason that gave the suspected APC chieftains the advantage to disrupt the process because their party was being defeated.
The polling officials were later released.
