Sand Eagles to jet out April 10 for CAF Beach Soccer Championship

The Nigeria Sand Super Eagles would on April 10, jet out for the forthcoming 2015 CAF Beach Soccer tournament in Roche Caiman, Seychelles.

 

 

Sand Eagles in actionThe Head Coach of the team, Audu Ejo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos.

He said that with the enormous support from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) the team would perform well.

“We have never had it so good, in terms of support and encouragement, the President and Vice President of the federation have done well. They have been with us during training.

 

 

“As we speak, our tickets and our hotel reservations have been made, something that has never happened.

 

 

“Usually when it is a week from the tournament we will start running around.

 

 

“But as it is, our players are mentally and psychologically ready, we intend to make it to the final, so we can qualify for the World cup,’’ Ejo said.

 

 

NAN reports that eight countries from the confederations, namely Egypt, Morocco, Madagascar, Senegal, Ghana, Ivory Coast Seychelles and Nigeria had qualified for the final tournament.

 

 

No fewer than 16 players were invited for camping in Badagry which opened on March 19.

 

 

Twelve players will be chosen in the final selection to represent the country in the tournament.

 

 

In the 2013 edition of the CAF championship in Morocco, Sand Eagles crashed out in the second round.

 

 

The two top finalist in the championship would represent Africa in the 2015 World Cup in Portugal.
