Speaking shortly before departing for his new office, Dahiru said he came to the zone with a zeal to ensure that smugglers were sent to jail but this was not achieved as anticipated because of slow pace of handling cases by the courts.
”Our officers made many seizures and arrests across various commands in the zone. Some of these suspects we expected to have been convicted have not gotten conviction. But I want to urge that our men keep up the tempo of hardwork and not be deterred by whatever challenges they encounter in the course of service” he said.
Dahiru who has assumed office as ACG in charge of Enforcement, Investigation and Inspection added that tempo of customs enforcement, fight against smuggling and other crimes under the service purview, will continue unrelentlessly
