Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condoled with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, over the death of the Attorney General of Rivers State, Emmanuel Aguma (SAN).
During a condolence visit at the Government House Port Harcourt on Wednesday, Atiku Abubakar said that the passage of Aguma was shocking.
He words: “The loss of the Attorney-General of Rivers State was shocking to us. This is because of our relationship with the state. ”
He prayed God to grant the state the fortitude to bear the loss as the services of the late Attorney-General of Rivers State would be missed by the country.
“We pray that God gives you the strength to bear this great loss. It was something we would not want to see, but God knows the best”, he said.
Also, the Ogun State former Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, thanked Governor Wike for his contributions to the development of the country.
He praised the governor for his developmental strides that have positively improved the lives of the people.
Responding, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, said that though the death of the Attorney General was painful, the State was comforted by condolence visits by prominent Nigerians like the former vice president.
He said the late attorney-general was one of his most trusted officials who exhibited loyalty, intelligence and commitment.
The governor said: “He carried out his assignments with diligence. The late Attorney-General of Rivers State helped us so much especially to defeat the mole, Ali Modu Sheriff, who was planted by the APC”.
According to him, Aguma was a legal expert who used his knowledge positively for the good of Rivers State.
The former vice president later visited the family of the late Attorney-General of Rivers State.
