Tagged ‘Music the weapon in the Age of Enlightenment’, it features Ikujenyo and a special guest, UK-based Nigerian, Ayinke Martins, who is an African jazz and soul singer.

Songs for the night will be taken from Ikujenyo’s forthcoming album of Yoruba jazz that will be released later in the year, and his recently released album, Pe Osun, on which Martins featured on the ‘Eyo’ track.

“The future of the country depends on our intellectual awareness, conscience and originality of writing music and arts. We refer to our great African-American star, James Brown, who sang ‘Say It Loud (I’m Black And I’m Proud)’, and Fela Kuti, originator of Afrobeat who sang ‘Buy Africa’,” the statement stressed.
