President Muhammad Buhari has arrived the Yakubu Gowon airport at Heipang, in Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau State to commiserate with the people following the resurgence of killings that claimed over 100 lives.
The President was received by the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, his deputy, Prof. Sonnie Tyoden, and security chiefs in the state.
He is expected to have a close door briefing with government officials, security agents and other stakeholders on the crisis situation in the state and how to address it.
The president was in Cross River State earlier on Tuesday for the commissioning of Calabar Rice seedling plant.
Bashir Ahmad, his personal Assistant on New Media, had notified journalists when the President was leaving the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar, for Jos.
He said: “President Mohammadu Buhari leaving the Margaret Ekpo International Airport for Jos Plateau State.”
According to him, President Buhari will condole with people and government of plateau state over the recent killings, and also meet with community leaders and other stakeholders.
TheNiche recalls that Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, made an unannounced visit to the state on Monday for an on the spot assessment and left after having audience with the governor, security agencies and stakeholders Monday night.
