A business mogul in Ebonyi state, Chief Monday Okeh has been kidnapped.
Oke was kidnapped in the night in front of his Monablis Hotel, Mile 50 Abakaliki the state capital and taken to a river where he was shot and thrown into the river. He, however, survived the incident.
It was gathered that N5million in his car was carted away by the miscreants who later forced him to transfer N9million to their
accounts.
A source who identify his name simply as Kelechi, said “The assassin used black Highlander Jeep that has no bumper in the front. It was
Neighbourhood Security Watch members that saw the jeep the way it was packed and suspected the jeep because it was open and the four doors
were opened. Three ATM cards were, jellof rice and footwear were found in the jeep. It was the Neighbourhood watch members that called
policemen who later came to the scene”.
Meanwhile, Medical Experts have successfully extracted the bullets from the Spinal Cord Region of Chief Okeh as he is said to be
responding speedily to treatments.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Loveth Odah confirmed the kidnap and arrest of suspects to our correspondent.
She disclosed that four persons have been arrested in connection to the incident.

Odah added that the hoodlums stole N9million belonging to the victim, adding that investigation into the matter was still ongoing.
Governor Dave Umahi during a media chat at government House Abakaliki at the weekend confirmed the incident.
Umahi said “there were a kidnap and robbery incident that happened in the state and it was carried out by a set of hoodlums assigned to this state by their gang. They have been doing it and escaping but today, both their ringleader and four others were tracked from far away Onitsha, Anambra state.
“The owner of Monablis hotel was kidnapped and robbed and taken to a rives through Enugu state. he was shot and pushed into the river but
miraculously he survived and came back. through our intelligence network, the Neighbourhood Security Watch, police, SSS brought him
back to the state and I have already dedicated my red biro. As soon as they are convicted, that will be the first death sentence I will
sign”.
Okeh popularly known as Emebeifego was initiated into the business world as an apprentice at Onitsha, Anambra State. Having completed
his apprenticeship, he launched his business empire with the name O.U. Monas Worldwide Enterprises where he specializes in Bureau De
Change at the Main Market Onitsha and importation of finished products manufactured on his order.
He is also into the importation of Motor Spare parts and hospitality industry with his offices scattered in different countries of the
world.
In the course of expanding his business coast, Oke has toured different countries of the world including China, the United States of
America, Turkey, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Malaysia, etc.
He is the Proprietor of Monabliss Hotel and Suites, Abakaliki Ebonyi State. He is one of the highest employers of labour in Ebonyi State,
Nigeria.
