Dino Melaye, a Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district has been arrested by security operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport, Abuja.
It was not immediately clear which agency carried out the arrest,
The 44 years-old Mr Melaye made this known via a tweet on his Twitter page.
Melaye, an ally of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, said he was picked up on his way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the Federal Government.

Mr Melaye was declared wanted by the police for gun-running and escape of suspects from police custody. He is also facing a recall from his senatorial district in Kogi.
